About Sage

A short biography. Last updated May 2026.

I am a single mother. I am twenty-three years sober. I write books for the woman who has been good at being everyone else and is ready to come home to herself, for the Christian woman in recovery who needs a Twelve Step companion that honors her faith, for the family that just got a cancer diagnosis and does not know what to do next, and for the cozy mystery reader who wants a small California town where the worst thing that happens is one body and the best thing is a good cup of coffee with a friend.

My work bridges the raw honesty of personal memoir with the universal themes of redemption, resilience, and renewal — drawn from more than two decades of personal recovery and the long, quiet work of helping other women find their way to the same ground.

I do not have a graduate degree in any of this. The qualification I bring to every page is wreckage I have lived through, work I have done, and women I have walked with. That is the only authority I trust on this material, and it is the only authority I claim.

Outside the books, I sponsor women in recovery, write the weekly reflection at this address, and run the monthly newsletter. I do not currently take speaking engagements; my work is in writing and in the women I have the privilege of walking beside.

“Every story of recovery is a testament to the human spirit’s infinite capacity for renewal.”
