Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information authorsagemorrison.com ("we," "the site") collects when you visit, how that information is used, how long it is kept, and how you can request that we delete it.
The site is operated by Sage Morrison (a published author). It exists to share information about Sage's books and connect with readers. We are not in the business of selling personal data, and we never will be.
What we collect
When you visit the site, we may collect:
- Your IP address (used to determine the approximate country, region, and city you're visiting from — never your street address). The IP is processed at the moment of your visit and may be stored in hashed form for our records.
- Approximate location derived from your IP (country, region, city — accurate to roughly the nearest large town, not your home).
- Page views — which pages on the site you looked at.
- Click events — which book cards or links you clicked.
- Anonymous device data — your browser type, operating system, and screen size, used to make sure the site renders correctly.
- Referrer — the website you came from, if any.
We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, or any other personally identifying detail unless you choose to provide it (for example, by emailing us at the contact address below).
How we use it
The information above is used for one purpose: to understand how readers discover and interact with Sage's work. Specifically, we use it to learn which books are getting attention, which countries readers are visiting from, and which pages are most useful, so the site can be improved.
We do not share, sell, or rent any of this data to anyone. It is not used for advertising. It is not combined with third-party data to build a profile of you.
Cookies and consent
The site uses minimal storage:
- A small entry in your browser's local storage to remember whether you accepted or declined analytics tracking on a previous visit. This is not a tracking cookie — it only stores your preference.
- Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other sites.
If you decline analytics on the cookie banner, no IP, location, click, or page-view data is sent to our servers.
How long we keep it
Visit data is retained for 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated, anonymous statistics (for example, "approximately X visitors per week") may be retained longer for historical comparison.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask us what data we hold about your visits.
- Ask us to delete that data.
- Withdraw your consent for analytics tracking at any time (clear your browser's local storage for this site, or email us).
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional statutory rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively — including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Contact
To exercise any of the rights above, or for any privacy-related question, email contact@authorsagemorrison.com. We respond to all genuine requests within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the site for at least 30 days.
